I started doing some reading on vintage costume jewelry and how important it is. For example. Did you know that rhinestones were once a precious gemstone? Really, they were mined near the Rhine Rive in Switzerland. Rhinestones came about because they depleted the supply so a smart fellow decided to make "fake" stones. Thus inventing the rhinestone. Daniel Swarovski was the inventor of the rhinestone. Back then they were made by hand.

Can you imagine what a real rhinestone would be worth today. WOW.

That's one of many cool stories that got me hooked.
